The Pop Luck Club

The Pop Luck Club is a Los Angeles-based organization of gay dads that is the largest known gay fathers organization in the world, with hundreds of families and continued strong growth. Its mission is to advance the well-being of gay prospective parents, gay parents, and their children. We do this through mutual support, community collaboration, and public understanding.

Pop Luck Hosts COLAGE LA at West Hollywood Monthly Meetings

As part of The Pop Luck Club's efforts to expand our offerings for older children, we're excited to be hosting ongoing monthly LA/Hollywood COLAGE (Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere) meetings for older kids (ages 9+) at our monthly West Hollywood meeting. All COLAGE families are invited to attend, including moms, and regardless of their affiliation with Pop Luck. COLAGE facilitators will be at the meetings to lead the older kids. We do ask that COLAGE parents stay at the meeting rather than doing drop-off, and invite them to participate in our monthly Pot Luck!

Kids' Fun Fair - June 7th in West Hollywood!

Celebrate the start of Summer at The Pop Luck Club's first Kids' Fun Fair! Join us and bring your friends. Affordable fun for kids of all ages! Encourage your child in games of skill. Take a chance on our exciting raffle.

The Fun Fair replaces our June West Hollywood meeting. It will be held at The Fountain Day School, 1128 N. Orange Grove Ave. in West Hollywood, from 12:00 - 1:30PM. Plenty of parking close by.

Instead of a June pot luck, lunch will be available at the Fun Fair. All proceeds benefit your Pop Luck Club.

Pop Luck Marches in LA Pride - June 14 at 10:30AM

The Pop Luck Club will once again be marching in the LA Pride parade, and invites all Pop Luck members and friends to join us. We'll be marching in style with our new 2009 Pop Luck Club T-Shirts - free to all marchers, and featuring The Pop Luck Club's new logo. Kids love to lead our contingent on their scooters and bikes, and parents can push kids in strollers or pull them in wagons. Or we could all do the old-fashioned stroll down Santa Monica Blvd! Meet around 10:30AM on Crescent Heights Blvd. north of Santa Monica Blvd. After the parade, parents and kids can head for the Children's Garden at the LA Pride Festival. Join Pop Luck and Family Services for "Ooooogy Green" at Celebration Theatre - Sat., May 30th

The Pop Luck Club is excited to announce our next family outing - to West Hollywood's Celebration Theatre to see the show "Ooooogy Green & Other Fables". This outing is being held in conjunction with The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Family Services Program.

Have you ever worried about being different?

Have you ever seen a story?

Ooooogy Green is scared to be different, but through the stories he hears, the adventures he has and the friends he meets, he learns that it’s the differences in all of us that make the world exciting! In fables new and old, puppets, actors, sound and music bring Ooooogy’s tale of self acceptance to the Celebration Theatre stage.

Stick around after the show for a special meet-n-greet with the puppets and cast!

Saturday, May 2nd - Pop Luck Club Community Service Event

The Pop Luck Club is inviting all of our members, past and present, to participate in an upcoming community service opportunity as part of the annual "Big Sunday" event (www.bigsunday.org). We're doing it on Saturday, May 2nd instead of Sunday the 3rd, since Sunday is our Pop Luck meeting in collaboration with COLAGE.

This year we'll be helping to clean up and beautify an LAUSD public school. This event will be held from 9AM - 3PM on May 2nd. It's appropriate for families with kids of all ages, and especially for those with older kids.

Pop Luck's objectives for participating in this event are many:

• To have fun!
• To raise the visibility of Pop Luck among the greater-L.A. & O.C. community
• To give our kids an opportunity to participate in community service
• To offer an event that appeals to families with older kids
• To help PLC families meet each other
