Are you a gay father or a gay prospective father? Are you a resident of southern California? Do you wish to apply for membership into The Pop Luck Club to support and interact with other gay fathers and gay prospective fathers? If the answer to all of these questions is “yes,” we invite you to apply for membership!
Our suggested annual contribution is $50 per family, which is invoiced during January of each year. The Pop Luck Club is a 501c3 organization, and all dues are tax deductible.
• New members who join during the months of December through May have a suggested dues amount of $50, with December new memberships running through the end of the following year.
• New members joining in June through November have a suggested dues amount of $25 that covers their membership for the remainder of the year.
For ongoing members, 2008 is a transition year as we switch to an annual membership date of January 1 from the previous rolling membership date. For 2008, we have an extended leeway period:
• Members who have paid dues since December, 2007 are considered active for the entire year of 2008, and no additional dues payments are suggested.
• Members who paid dues between June and December, 2007 are also considered active for the entire year of 2008, but we are suggesting a pro-rated contribution (as you see fit) for 2008.
• Those who paid any time prior to June, 2007 are requested to pay the suggested $50 membership contribution. Everyone in this category is considered active through the end of June, 2008. Those who have not paid their 2008 dues by the end of June will then be considered "Inactive".
Dues are all suggested amounts - note that we also allow flexibility for families wishing to give more or less support. The membership dues help us cover club operating costs, including items like kids' entertainment at our meetings, supplies, membership kits, newsletter production and distribution, facility rentals, insurance and website maintenance.
Memberships can now be paid via PayPal. However, we are in a transitionary phase where we still require that NEW members complete a hard copy of the application form, which you can download below. If you pay via PayPal, please indicate that you've done so on your application form. In a short time, we will also provide an online Membership form. ONGOING MEMBERS DO NOT NEED TO COMPLETE A MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION, EVEN IF PAYING VIA PAYPAL.

Membership privileges include participation in our mentor program, membership in our online newsgroup, receipt of the PLC newsletter, and participation in our monthly meetings, our special events and our annual PLC membership meeting.
The Pop Luck Club will not distribute or otherwise make available any membership information to any third parties. Unless you note otherwise at the end of our application, membership acceptance will cause your information to be listed in our membership directory, which is only made available to Pop Luck Club members.
Once your application is complete, sign it (We MUST have the signature of each adult in your family to process your application), and send it to the address listed on the application. A PLC representative will then contact you to discuss the organization and your potential participation.
The Pop Luck Club is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation exempt from taxation per Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Upon request, we will provide a receipt of your contribution for your records.
