Andrew Rakos' Candidate's Statement

Andrew

Andrew and son, Seth.

Statement

I was born to be a father.

I was 38, single and gay.

Raised by Holocaust survivors, I grew up living passionately and dreaming big. I created "Who's on Third?" and "Band of Infinity" while working with the LA Free Clinic, The Los Angeles Youth Network, and The Freedom to Marry Coalition. Choosing to be a stay at home dad, I sold my companies when my son was born. Fatherhood is about sacrifice, love and the reliving of your childhood. I learned that the greatness of my life was measured by the amount of love I shared. Seth has taught me to be patient and joyous. Fatherhood has made me a better man, and The Pop Luck Club with its diverse families has shown me the depth of our compassion. It would be an honor to represent the face of fatherhood for our organization.
