The Pop Luck Club has had a contingent in the Christopher Street West Pride Parade through West Hollywood for the past almost 20 years. It is an event that brings our many demographics together:
- Prospective dads
- Dads with babies in bjorns & strollers
- Dads with toddlers in wagons
- Dads with elementary-aged kids riding scooters, bikes and skates
- Dads with teenagers staring at their smart phones
- Friends of every age who want to celebrate our families with us
This June 11 (Sunday), the parade is merging with the #RESIST March, which will look a lot more like the Women’s March in January.
Traditionally, the Pride Parade:
- Check-in starts at 11:00 am, steps off at Noon.
- Distance is about one mile long (from Crescent Heights Blvd, west down Santa Monica Blvd to Robertson Blvd, near The Abbey).
- Ends around 1:00 pm (2 hours total).
- Route is contained/lined with barricades, with onlookers on the sidewalks.
This year, the #RESIST March:
- Check-in starts at 7:00 am, steps off 8:00 am.
- Distance is about 3 miles long (from Hollywood Blvd, south down Highland Ave, west down Santa Monica to Robertson Blvd, the same terminus.
- Ends around Noon (5 hours total).
- Route is not likely to be contained/lined with barricades, as people will join the march as it progresses.
The #RESIST march will have a more political mission than the traditional pride parade.
